Sam White (3rd year trainee) was invited to speak at the 8th European Spinal Psychologist's Association (ESPA) conference in Zurich. There were around 40 delegates from Europe the US and Australia. Sam was awarded the Anette Johansen-Quale Scholarship, which is awarded to anyone under 30 who is working or studying in spinal cord injury. The scholarship is named after a member of ESPA who sadly passed away at the age of 30.
The theme of the conference was "psychological approaches to managing co-morbidity, incomplete spinal cord injury and higher age at injury". The talks covered discussion of psychological wellbeing, quality of life and improving care.
