On Friday 29th July, OxICPT Joint Director, David Murphy, presented at the 33rd International Congress of Psychology in Yokohama, Japan. David's presentation on the development of Clinical Psychology and Psychological Therapies in the UK was part of a symposium on the role of Clinical Psychology organized by the Association of Japanese Clinical Psychologists .

The International Congress of Psychology occurs once every four years and is organized by the International Union of Psychological Science, an organization made up of national psychological associations across the world. The congress was attended by nearly 8,000 participants from 95 countries ( At the congress, former British Psychological Society President and Honorary General Secretary, Prof Pam Maras, was elected as the new President Elect of IUPsyS.
