Samuel White

B.Sc (hons)

Trainee Clinical Psychologist

What I do

I am currently in my third year at the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and am undertaking a year-long specialist placement providing input to paediatric burns and spinal injury services in a local hospital.

My previous placements have been in general paediatrics, an adult and older adult CMHT and a community learning disability service in Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

I am undertaking research with a local Teenage and Young Adult cancer service to understand the experience of fertility preservation in young adult males using an interpretative phenomenological analysis methodology.

Professional Interests

My work experience prior to commencing clinical training was mainly in adult mental health settings, both primary and secondary care. I have a background in outcome measures, particularly the implementation and use of routine session-by-session monitoring.

The integration of physical and mental healthcare is something of significant interest to me, in particular the psychological aspects of managing acute and chronic physical illness.
